design team

plan - Executive Committee formed to lead fundraising & manage process
Who are we? The cohort
46 participants representing 40 organizations joined the process meeting the following criteria:
Committed to centering directly impacted leadership
(undocumented experiences, women, queer/trans, people of color, poor, Black)
(undocumented experiences, women, queer/trans, people of color, poor, Black)
Serve diverse communities
(including MASA, API, Black, regional diversity, asylum/refugees)
Apply various approaches to win, including organizing, legal, policy, communications, political and electoral
Committed to building long-term vision, not only interest in short-term fights
Strategic thinkers willing to take off org hats and think w/ movement wide perspective
Willing to engage in transformational process, courageous conversations
We are:
- 55% immigrants; 32% children of immigrants; 13% allies
- 87% work directly with impacted communities through organizing, direct services or other direct work
- 59% are engaged in political, electoral or lobbying work through a 501(c)(4)
- Groups working on a range of issues from immigration enforcement and other immigration policies/laws to racial and economic justice, refugees/asylees, and education, among others
